Credit Cents workshops/counseling for individuals are by appointment only and held at the main offices of Family Services, Inc. at 4925 Lacross Road, Suite 215 in North Charleston.  The cost is $100.   Please complete the online registration process. You will be contacted by our office within one business day of the receipt of your registration to schedule your appointment date and time.  Once payment is made there will be NO REFUNDS.

Many potential people are in need of additional help understanding and cleaning up past and current credit. The Homeownership Resource Center and Consumer Credit Counseling Services, both divisions of Family Services, Inc., work together to offer clients one-stop services for their credit needs through the extremely popular Credit Cents Workshop. 

Credit Cents consists of two parts and Part 1 MUST be completed to be eligible to participate in Part 2 of the workshop. In Part 1 participants will:

• learn the positive steps to take to improve credit
• learn strategies to control day-to-day finances
• learn how to put money to work to their advantage
• find out what creditors look for when people apply for credit
   

During Part 2 of the workshop partcipants will:

• receive a copy of their credit report from all three credit reporting agencies with a written analysis detailing ways to improve their credit score
• learn to understand and manage their credit report
• get tips on budgeting
• learn how to dispute inaccurate items on their credit report
