Credit Cents

Does a trip to the mailbox make you nervous? Do you want to improve your credit but don't know how? If you answered yes to either of these questions, register for the Credit Cents workshop today!

Many of us are in need of additional help understanding and cleaning up past and current credit. The Homeownership Resource Center and Consumer Credit Counseling Services, both divisions of Family Services, Inc., work together to offer clients one-stop services for their homebuying and credit needs. While we offer many types of credit counseling and homebuying resources, Credit Cents is one of our most popular and beneficial workshops.

Credit Cents consists of two parts and you must complete Part 1 to be eligible to participate in Part 2 of the workshop.

In Part 1 of Credit Cents you will:

• learn the positive steps you can take to improve your credit
• learn strategies to control your day-to-day finances
• learn how to put your money to work for you
• find out what creditors look for when you apply for credit

In Part 2 of Credit Cents you will:

• receive a copy of your credit report from all three credit reporting agencies with a written analysis detailing ways to improve your credit score
• learn to understand and manage your credit report
• get tips on budgeting
• learn how to dispute inaccurate items on your credit report

Group workshop schedule is subject to change. Check our calendar for the most current dates and times. Cost is $75 for the group workshop. Once payment is made there will be NO REFUNDS. The deadline to register is 5:00 pm on the Wednesday prior to the beginning of the workshop in which you will participate.
